Advancement

In the grand scheme of Thailand’s economy, commerce is the lifeblood of the quality of life of Thai people, because regardless of where they live, every Thai individual has to procure essential goods to sustain their life. However, before 2500 B.E., major trade commercial hub was clustered exclusively in the big city, limiting essential information and knowledge sharing on business-related issues and on business improvement. Afterward, in 2503 B.E., Mr.Bangurd Cholvijar, the chairman of the Thai Chamber of Commerce, and Mr. Chuea Chananop, a board member of the Thai Chamber of Commerce, had a vision to establish “The Provincial Chamber of Commerce ''. Chonburi province was chosen as the starting point for this pilot project.

The Provincial Chamber of Commerce had proven to be a strategic asset in the advancement of both the Thai Chamber of Commerce and Thailand's Economy as a whole as the members of each Provincial Chamber of Commerce were local business owners and entrepreneurs from every level of society in Thailand. They provided valuable insight into the trade and investment landscape of each province. Furthermore, this organization unit enabled them to help and provide support to fellow members within the same province which, ultimately, strengthened the local provincial economy and national economy.
