The Certificate of Origin (CO) is a required document in import customs clearance to declare a country in which a commodity or good was manufactured. During the customs formality process, the importers will request the exporters to obtain a CO document to process through the customs clearance process.
The Thai Chamber of Commerce (TCC) offers the certification service for Non-Preferential Certificate of Origin (NPCO) under the Chamber of Commerce Act B.E.2509 (A.D.1966) in the electronic format "CO Online System" that can be printed at your convenience.
The CO certificate issued by the Thai Chamber of Commerce is widely accepted by both customs and importers as the certification process is adhered to The Rules of Origin Agreement of the World Trade Organization (WTO). The process involves inspection of the export product’s country of origin in an impartial, transparent, and consistent manner.
Although the NPCO issued by the TCC is not eligible for customs tax reduction as it is intended solely to prove the origin of goods, this trade document can be used to satisfy customs or trade requirements such as supporting letter of credit, quantitative restrictions or tariff quotas and other commercial policy measures.
A document that is official and legal in one country might not be official and legal in another. Many documents must therefore be legalized to attest their authenticity in order to be used aboard.
There are two types of document authentication process

Chain Authentication Process which involves multiple authentications from the Department of Consular Affairs and the embassy.
